Gynecologic care is focused on complete diagnostics and treatment of all types of infertility. As assisted reproduction methods are not always necessary for successful treatment, gynecologists of the PRONATAL medical group provide full diagnosis - hormonal examination, endoscopic examination (hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, trans-vaginal hydrolaparoscopy) or ultrasound examination.
All diagnostic procedures (and a number of surgical operations) are performed on ambulatory basis, thus intrusion on the patient’s private life is minimal. The PRONATAL medical group physicians are also experienced specialists in fertility promoting surgery. After finding the cause of infertility, the couples are consulted and their treatment commenced. The most common gynecological cause of sterility is anovulation. Proficiently performed hormonal treatment is sufficient in most cases and leads to quick conception. Hormonal treatment is often followed by intrauterine insemination – application of partner’s sperm into the uterus.
For women, this operation is painless and the main benefits are:
- Selected sperm of highest quality is applied
- The insemination process enables placing sperm in close proximity to the oocyte(s)
- Due to optimal timing there is optimal chance to achieve successful fertilization
- In case of sterility, in vitro fertilization (IVF) is the most successful treatment method.
The main indications for IVF are:
- Damage (or absence) of Fallopian tube
- Male infertility
- Immunologic infertility
- Idiopatic (unexplained) infertility
- Infertility requiring egg donation
After ovarian stimulation oocytes are collected using ultrasound controlled transvaginal puncture and fertilized using the partner’s sperm in the embryological laboratory. The fertilized eggs (embryos) are transferred after 2-5 days of culture and approximately every third woman becomes pregnant (for comparison - success in natural reproduction is about 25%). If "supernumerary" frozen embryos are subsequently transferred, the cumulative probability of successful treatment rises up to 59%. IVF is a treatment offering a wide range of procedures and variations.
PRONATAL medical group physicians and embryologists offer all methods of treatment available in modern medicine and it is no coincidence that infertile couples from the Czech Republic, as well as an increasing number of couples from abroad are interrested in these techniques.
